Microsoft Corp. has licensed Adobe Systems Inc.'s software that lets cell phone users view online videos and other files, the companies said Monday.
Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) will distribute San Jose-based Adobe's (NASDAQ:ADBE) Flash Lite and Reader programs through cell phones that use its Windows Mobile software.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the programs will be free for users.
Adobe said that more than half a billion mobile devices have shipped with Flash preinstalled, indicating 150 percent growth year over year.
